Roofer’s slate expectations

A ROOFING apprentice has won a place at the final of Britain’s biggest skills competition.

Callum Murphy is one of 12 finalists from the Scottish heat of SkillBuild 2011, and will join 100 UK hopefuls in Leeds from September 14-16.

Callum attends Telford College and is an apprentice at Southwest Roofing.

Graeme Ogilvy, director for ConstructionSkills in Scotland, said: “SkillBuild is a great opportunity for colleges and companies to show off their talent.”
