Sam Fender teases Murrayfield gig in epic Lord of the Rings video

Fans eagerly awaiting ticket news after Sam Fender teases his first-ever Murrayfield gig

Geordie singer songwriter Sam Fender has teased his first-ever Murrayfield gig in a Lord of the Rings inspired video.

The teaser shows members of the singer’s band dressed as characters from Tolkien’s iconic series as “beacons” erupt from stadiums across the UK, including Edinburgh’s Murrayfield.

It ends with Fender in full Hobbit attire wiping beer from his lip and setting off on his journey.

Fans will hopefully not wait long for Fender to reach the home of Scottish rugby, with the tour expected to take place next year.

His official website has been updated with the logo “SF27” and invites fans to sign up to his mailing list for updates on upcoming live shows.

It will be the Angel in Lothian singer’s biggest Edinburgh gig yet after he wowed a 20,000-strong crowd at the Royal Highland Centre’s Summer Sessions last year.

Fender, whose tour for his latest 2025 album ‘People Watching’ earned rave reviews, told fans at the 2025 gig “it’s nice to be back in the best country in the British isles”.

While fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on tickets, the excitement to see the ‘Seventeen Going Under’ and ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ singer once more is palpable.

One fan said: “This has to be the best way to announce a tour ever.”

Another added: “One does not simply walk into Murrayfield! Let’s go!”

Despite much speculation, fans will still have to wait to discover whether new music also awaits them next year.
