Saughton incident: Boys, 12 and 13, injured by fireworks, say police

Two children were reportedly rushed to hospital after a box of fireworks exploded in their hands.

The Daily Record has reported the youngsters, aged 12 and 13, were seriously injured.

The incident is understood to have happened in the Saughton area on Saturday.

A police spokesperson told the Daily Record: “Officers were called to an address on Saughton Mains Terrace around midday following reports of children being injured by fireworks.

“A 12 and 13-year-old have been taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh.”
