Savings to protect key services
SAVINGS of £1.2 million have been identified by Midlothian Council in a bid to protect frontline services.
A new strategy for procuring goods and services has been approved by the council to make the saving by March 2014.
At a full council meeting recently, councillors agreed being as efficient as possible and getting the most out of the money they spend on services and goods was a key way to protect frontline services.
