Second alert as girl approached outside city primary

POLICE are stepping up patrols in the Cramond area after an unknown man stopped a young girl on her way from school.

The man pulled up in a vehicle and spoke to her last Tuesday on Whitehouse Road close to Cramond Primary School.

A spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh are investigating an incident in the Cramond area after a man stopped in a vehicle and spoke to a young child on her way home from school.

“This incident occurred around 3.15pm on Tuesday, February 2, on Whitehouse Road.

“Police will be carrying out increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance and are in contact with the council’s education department. Anyone with information is asked to please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
