'˜Several' residents rescued from Drylaw fire
The blaze started in a common stairwell in a block of flats on Wester Drylaw Drive.

Hide AdThe fire service was unable to confirm exactly how many people were in the building at the time but it is believed two families with three children were in one of the flats.
A spokesman from the Fire Service said: “There was a fire within the main stairwell of the building which has now been extinguished.
“The call came in at 7.31 pm (on Wednesday) and there were several further calls from individuals within the premises who were trapped. There was smoke coming from the common stairwell.
“The fire in the stairwell was tackled using one high pressure hose reel jet and four breathing apparatus. We are now venting the property.”
No one was injured in the fire.
