Sex offender admits pensioner’s murder
A CONVICTED sex offender today admitted raping, robbing and murdering a vulnerable OAP in her Edinburgh home.
Kevin Rooney carried out the brutal attack on tragic Rosina Sutherland, 74, at her sheltered housing bungalow in the Longstone area last year.
He denied the offence and went on trial at the High Court in Aberdeen this week.
Rooney changed his plea and admitted the charge this afternoon.
It has just emerged in court that he was a convicted sex offender.
