Shamed MP selling home

Disgraced former Livingston MP Jim Devine has put a second home up for sale as he battles to pay back debt.

Trustees for the 59-year-old have put his three-bedroom cottage in Blackburn, West Lothian, on sale for £160,000.

The ex-Labour politician was jailed in March last year for 16 months after being found guilty of fraudulently claiming £8385 in expenses by submitting false invoices.

He was later freed after serving only four months.

Brochures of the property for sale show a “Vote Devine” poster above the fireplace.

It is understood Mr Devine is still living in the house.

The politician sold a £240,000 London property in 2011 in efforts to meet the demands of creditors.
