Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called out to the Lothian Road area at around 4.42pm today.

The alarm was raised after a fire was discovered in the sauna on the fourth floor of the Sheraton Grand hotel, and the spa was evacuated.

Firefighters remain on the scene while investigating whether the fire has spread

A total of seven appliances had been deployed to the area, but only five remain.
