Shop worker held up with broken bottle

A SHOP worker in the Capital has been held up by a robber with a broken bottle.

The woman was held up in Blockbuster on Great Junction Street.

The robber struck at 9pm on Thursday and escaped with a three figure sum of cash.

The man was white, in his 30s, about 6ft tall and of large build. He was wearing a black beanie hat, a black baggy sports jacket, blue jeans and spoke with a local accent.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “This was a very frightening experience for the store assistant and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify this man.”
