Sick Moore hounded ex by phone

FRANK Moore bombarded his ex-girlfriend with phone messages, ranging from violent threats to desperate protestations of love, in the run up to his murderous rampage.

Moore and Lynsey Methven met on her 29th birthday in October 2009, and they were friends for almost a year before starting a relationship last summer.

But the couple split after Moore booked a six week holiday to Thailand without telling his girlfriend. He returned in December to find Ms Methven had started dating Stewart Taylor, head chef at the Maison Bleue restaurant in Victoria Street.

Ms Methven started receiving threatening phone calls and voicemails from Moore in January, and they continued until the day before the murder.

In one message, Moore said: “Good luck, make the most of it because you will need it.”

On January 28, Moore left a string of messages on Ms Methven’s phone. Eleven of them were left in the space of an hour, some just a minute apart. In them, he threatens to go to Ms Methven’s mother’s house and “bang your f***ing door”.

Later that evening, Moore turned up at her mother’s Leith flat and kicked at the door whilst shouting abuse.

On the following day, Moore left a voicemail saying: “Answer your phone – if you don’t something’s going to happen.”
