Sir Chris Hoy takes centre stage in Edinburgh to tackle housing leadership
Edinburgh sector urged to move ‘from rhetoric to action’ as Sir Chris Hoy joins housing summit
Olympian Sir Chris Hoy is to deliver a keynote speech on leadership to around 900 representatives from the homebuilding sector.
The Edinburgh-born retired Olympic cyclist, 50, will deliver his speech in the Capital on Friday at Homes for Scotland’s (HFS) annual lunch and awards ceremony.
His speech will discuss high-performance, positivity under pressure and how courage, character and determination can foster better results for the housebuilding sector.
HFS says Scotland is now in the third year of a national housing emergency, with chief executive Jane Wood set to call for leadership from every level of the government to support the sector.

In her address, Ms Wood will say: “Now is the time to move from political rhetoric and back and forth to action at pace.
“And why? Because, we have a moral imperative to help the children growing up in temporary accommodation, the young professionals struggling to get on the property ladder, the growing families needing larger properties and the key workers who cannot find somewhere to live near their jobs.
“Scotland has the skills. I believe it has the ambition. And, in this room, I know it has the expertise to build a better future.”
