Six hurt after buses collide

SIX passengers suffered minor injuries after two buses were involved in a collision during rush-hour traffic.

One man was taken to hospital with a minor back injury, while five other passengers suffered minor injuries but did not attend hospital.

The accident, which involved two Lothian Buses, took place outside the Longstone depot on Murrayburn Road at around 4.30pm yesterday, with police and paramedics attending the scene. The road was closed while the debris was cleared.

A Lothian Buses spokesman said: “One male passenger was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after reporting a back injury. Five other passengers reported minor injuries but left the scene of their own accord. Both drivers were shaken by the incident but not injured. We don’t yet know the cause of the accident.”
