Snooker player pockets sporting award

Up-and-coming snooker player Mike Leslie has been named senior sports personality of the year at the Midlothian Sports Awards.

Bonnyrigg’s Leslie, 18, who recently hit the headlines after becoming the first Scottish amateur player to record a 147 break, received a grant for his efforts. He said: “It’s a great honour – it means all the hard work has paid off.

“It’s fantastic to be recognised by Midlothian.”
