SNP group anger over cuts impact
SNP group leader Councillor Paul McLennan said: “This is a devastating blow for our communities. Many of these projects were in both the SNP and Labour manifestos and must now be under threat. Labour voted for a near identical budget in February but have now abandoned it to try and fund their un-costed manifesto commitments.

Stuart Currie, SNP councillor for Musselburgh East and Carberry, said the cut meant the proposed Whitecraig Community Centre could either be delayed or not happen at all.
He said: “The village has waited many years for this centre and they now have to thank Labour for putting it under threat. If this wasn’t bad enough there is now doubt over the funding for the regeneration of Musselburgh town centre.”
