Soldiers get fired up to restore gun

PREPARE to fire – Regimental Sergeant Major Mark Paterson readies a 25-pounder gun for action in Castle Park, Dunbar, after it was restored to its former glory.

The historic gun, placed in Dunbar to commemorate the role played by the artillery in protecting the town during the First World War, had fallen into a poor state of repair. But it was cleaned and restored by Gunners from 105th Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers) after an appeal for help.
