Solicitor’s firms go bust

TWO Edinburgh companies run by a struck-off solicitor have gone into voluntary liquidation with tax debts of £58 million.

It is understood all employees at David Allen’s employment and payroll agencies Employ-E and Legitas Group were paid off before the appointment of liquidators.

The 60-year-old businessman who has a £1 million mansion in the Borders, complete with its own golf course, was banned from being a solicitor in 2000 after improperly using client funds for his own purposes.
