His talk, titled Our Universe: Through the Eyes of Astronomers, proved popular with those in attendance.

They will now run until April 2, each lasting an hour, with an admission fee of £3. They begin each evening at 7.30pm.

A variety of experts have been lined up to take part in the eagerly anticipated events, some of which, organisers said, would be visually dramatic.
