Store pills to beat the chills

Residents are being encouraged to make sure they have stocked up on medicine in case of winter coughs and colds.

Alex MacKinnon, director for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Scotland, said: “Winter can be a time when everyone is more susceptible to minor illnesses.

“When the weather is particularly bad it makes sense to have some medicines at home, especially for vulnerable or elderly people. People should also remember to use their local pharmacy.”
