Suspicious letter delivered to Holyrood Palace
POLICE are investigating after a suspicious letter was delivered to The Palace of Holyroodhouse this afternoon.
Staff raised the alarm after receiving the letter shortly after midday.
Officers were immediately deployed along with firefighters and investigations are ongoing.
The road outside the palace was cordoned off by firefighters.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Edinburgh were called to the Palace of Holyrood House around 12.05pm on Wednesday 7th June after reports were received that a suspicious letter had been delivered.
“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
