Takeover of Princes Street's Royal British Hotel

A HOTEL chain is to open another branch site in the Capital '“ taking over the old Royal British Hotel on Princes Street.

The boutique 64-bedroom Hotel Indigo has kitted out its rooms to reflect local culture and history.

Pictures and portraits of famous authors, poets and artists will hang over Harris Tweed soft furnishings.

Guests will also be able to dine out at the award-­winning Twenty Princes Street restaurant.

Helen Gallagher, general manager of Hotel Indigo Edinburgh in Princes Street, said: “We are confident that hotel guests, residents and visitors alike will be impressed by the dramatic transformation of this local landmark. Edinburgh is an inspiring city with a rich literary heritage; this local culture has been reflected throughout the hotel design and our award-winning restaurant and bar to create something truly unique and stylish.”
