Tax ‘threat’ to city airport

EDINBURGH Airport’s record on passenger numbers could be at risk if UK Government plans to increase aviation taxes go ahead, an MSP has warned.

Edinburgh Western SNP MSP Colin Keir said: “This summer Edinburgh Airport recorded its best passenger numbers ever but the progress will be seriously threatened if Air Passenger Duty is increased.

“Scotland should have the responsibility of APD so we can facilitate, not prevent more flights coming in and out of Edinburgh.”
