Teen charged with mugging

A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent attack on an Indian student who was left with a broken nose.

The 17-year-old boy was detained by police following the mugging, which took place in Leith’s Haddington Place in the early hours of October 27.

He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Arnab Chakraborty, 23, was left bleeding and unconscious while the thief made off with his £500 mobile phone and cash.

The 23-year-old had been out with friends celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights.
