Police are appealing for witnesses following two robberies in Edinburgh.

In the first incident, an 88-year-old woman found three men leaving her home in Bryson Road at about 3.10pm. She later discovered a three-figure sum of money was missing.

At about 4.45pm, a man claiming to be from “the water board” called at the door of an 88-year-old man, also in Bryson Road. The man let him and another man in and, after they left about half an hour later, it emerged a four-figure sum of money had been taken.
