Thieves take 13 saddles from West Lothian farm

POLICE are hunting thieves who broke into a stable on a farm and stole 13 horse saddles worth thousands of pounds.

The saddles were stolen, along with one bridle, from the tack room of the stables at Easter Longridge Farm, near Longridge, West Lothian, between 7.30pm on Friday and 3pm on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: “A vehicle would have been used to transport the equipment, and we are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity to contact police.”

He added: “It is possible that the items have been stolen for sale, and we are appealing to any stable owners or anyone else involved in equine pursuits across Scotland who have been offered suspected stolen items for sale over the past few days, to get in touch.”
