A toddler has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on the outskirts of Glasgow.

The three-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to the city’s children’s hospital after the incident, which happened around lunchtime on Stewarton Road.

It’s not known at this stage the extent of any injuries the boy may have sustained.

Police were also at the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 1.35pm on Saturday 20 March, police were called to a report of a young boy struck by a car on Stewarton Road, Glasgow.

“The three-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.”
