Delays of 45 minutes due to broken down car and congestion greets commuters on Edinburgh roads

A broken down car on Queensferry Road is causing tailbacks and delays for commuters travelling into Edinburgh this morning.

The car, which broke down just after the Clermiston junction is causing queues to form all the way back to the Barnton junction.

The inside lane is blocked due to the break down just after Clermiston Road North, causing delays of 45 minutes from Dalmeny and long queues travelling northbound on Maybury Road.

There are also delays on the motorways with the M9 slow from Junction 1A to Newbridge and the A89 very busy between Broxburn and Newbridge and the M8 busy between Harthill to Newbridge.

On the trunk roads there is congestion on the M90 going southbound from Junction 2 to the Queensferry Crossing.

There are also delays on the A720 westbound between Gilmerton and Dreghorn.

Deanhaugh Street in Stockbridge remains shut to all traffic due to gas works.
