MOTORISTS in the centre of Edinburgh faced rush-hour disruption this morning after overnight roadworks overran.

Scottish Water were carrying out valve repairs in Hanover Street and George Street. Road closures were due to last from 7pm last night until 7am this morning and bus diversions were also in place, but the work could not be completed in time to lift the restrictions on schedule.
