Five-car crash in heavy fog on M8 causes delays
A five-vehicle crash in heavy fog on the M8 has resulted in at least one person being taken to hospital.
Police have said the accident occurred at Junction 6, Newhouse, Lanarkshire at about 06:20 this morning.
One man has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Eastbound traffic was subject to heavy delays following the accident.
The route was fully reopened at around 8:00am after debris was removed from the roadway.
Commuters faced 40-minute delays with traffic queued back to Shawhead Junction.
