Forth Road Bridge and A1 reopen to all vehicles after closures during high winds

The A1 has reopened to traffic after a closure due to high winds yesterday.

Two lorries overturned on the road and were recovered overnight while the road was shut to all traffic.

However, as wind speeds drop the road has reopened to all traffic including high-sided vehicles.

The Forth Road Bridge, which was shut to double-decker buses, motorbikes, cyclists and pedestrians due to high winds yesterday has also been reopened to all types of traffic.

Several restrictions on the Queensferry Crossing have also been lifted, meaning traffic travelling across the Forth is returning to normal.
