"Driving to the conditions is essential during winter weather as a small incident can have a huge impact on traction and gritters being able to pass and keep roads open"

East Lothian Council tweeted: "Snow ploughs and gritters have been out in the outlying parts of the county overnight and this morning and all roads are open including the Gifford to Duns road which drivers are advised is 'passable with care'."
