Potential Gorgie road closures and timings confirmed for Saturday if Hearts win Scottish premiership title
Thousands of fans are expected to descend on Tynecastle Park on Saturday afternoon should Hearts win the SPFL title in Glasgow
A number of road closures in and around Gorgie are planned for Saturday afternoon in the event that Hearts win the Scottish premiership title.
City of Edinburgh Council have made tentative plans to close roads surrounding Tynecastle Park on Saturday afternoon (May 16) if Derek McInnes’s men get the job done during their final match against Celtic in Glasgow.
Excitement is high amongst supporters as the big day approaches, with the final result going down to the wire.

With the Jambos only one point ahead of Celtic in the league, a draw or win at Celtic Park will secure their first league title in more than 60 years.
Should that scenario play out, thousands of fans are expected to greet the team on their arrival back into Edinburgh on what will be a historic day in Gorgie.
As a result, plans have been drafted up by the council to completely close roads surrounding the stadium.
McLeod Street will be closed in its entirety from 2.30pm on the final day of the season until 9pm on Sunday, May 17.
There will also be a number of road closures between 2.30pm and 11.59pm on Saturday, May 16. These roads are:
- Gorgie Road - between Robertson Avenue and Ardmillan Terrace
- Tynecastle Terrace - in its entirety
- White Park - in its entirety
- Newton Street - in its entirety
- Tynecastle Lane - in its entirety

In addition to roads being closed on Saturday, plans for an open-top bus parade from the Old Town into Gorgie have also been drafted.
The route would see major road closures on busy city centre streets including The Mound, Princes Street and Shandwick Place. Closures would take place on Sunday from 10am until 9pm.
All of the above road closures on both Saturday and Sunday will only take place if Hearts win the league.
