Fans in Edinburgh spotted Ewen Bremner filming scenes as Spud last week, though the official announcement states that work on the film began today(MON).

The movie is based on the book Porno, Edinburgh writer Irvine Welsh’s follow-up to Trainspotting. It sees Carlyle’s chracter Begbie serving time for killing someone before he is reunited with old pals including Mark Renton, played by Ewan McGregor, 45.

Last week it was revealed that a Lanarkshire pub would be used to film scenes for the hit film’s sequel.

Producers have earmarked the Orb Bar in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, for shooting.

The popular working men’s venue had been spotted by researchers looking for locations matching gritty pubs in the much anticipated follow up to the 1996 smash.

Much of the sequel is being shot using real-life locations. Director Boyle and actor Bremner were seen in the Muirhouse area of Edinburgh as they got to work on the eagerly anticipated follow-up flick.

Ewen, who plays Daniel ‘Spud’ Murphy, was seen sporting a floral patterned shirt which he teamed with a grey suit.
