Trainspotting 2 to hit cinemas January 2017

Trainspotting 2 or ‘T2’ - starring Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle and directed by Danny Boyle - will open on January 27, 2017.
A video teaser, comprised of footage from the 1996 original, was posted online today(MON) and revealed the official release date.

The 45-second promo also stated that all the original cast, including Ewen Bremner and Johnny Lee Miller, will reprise their roles.
The trailer also featured Iggy Pop’s song Lust For Life which was used in the original film.
In a tweet, production company Film4 said: “In cinemas January 2017: Danny Boyle’s sequel to Trainspotting. Choose T2.”

Hide AdFans in Edinburgh spotted Ewen Bremner filming scenes as Spud last week, though the official announcement states that work on the film began today(MON).
The movie is based on the book Porno, Edinburgh writer Irvine Welsh’s follow-up to Trainspotting. It sees Carlyle’s chracter Begbie serving time for killing someone before he is reunited with old pals including Mark Renton, played by Ewan McGregor, 45.
Last week it was revealed that a Lanarkshire pub would be used to film scenes for the hit film’s sequel.

Hide AdProducers have earmarked the Orb Bar in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, for shooting.
The popular working men’s venue had been spotted by researchers looking for locations matching gritty pubs in the much anticipated follow up to the 1996 smash.
Much of the sequel is being shot using real-life locations. Director Boyle and actor Bremner were seen in the Muirhouse area of Edinburgh as they got to work on the eagerly anticipated follow-up flick.
Ewen, who plays Daniel ‘Spud’ Murphy, was seen sporting a floral patterned shirt which he teamed with a grey suit.
