Officials said there had been a problem loading information on adjusted timetables for the rugby at Murrayfield. It meant platform displays could not show details of live tram departures.

Instead, they carried the message that trams run every 8-10 minutes. Live data was available on mobile apps and the trams website.

The problem was finally fixed yesterday.

A spokesman Edinburgh Trams said: “Platform displays are now showing live information following an issue with the system. We apologise for the inconvenience and we’ll work with our contractor to make sure performance is monitored closely.”
