A1: Long queues cleared in the outskirts of Edinburgh as emergency services attended crash on major motorway

A lane has been cleared after long queues on the A1 as emergency services attended an incident just east of Edinburgh.

The second lane was blocked southbound just before the Wallyford exit slip due to a road traffic accident.

Traffic was moving slowly from Old Craighall, and queues started to build adding 20 to 25 minutes extra on to travel time.

The road was cleared at around 1.45pm after emergency services were called to the scene to deal with the crash.

Police Scotland confirmed they attended a two vehicle crash around 12.20pm.

There were no injuries reported an the vehicles have now been recovered.
