A702 reopens after serious crash between HGV and car

Rush hour motorists face heavy delays following a serious crash on the A702.

An HGV and a car were involved in a serious collision this morning at around 7:45 on the A702 near Boghall Farm, Midlothian.

Police have been contacted but are unable to confirm if there have been any injuries or fatalities.

Drivers faced diversions and delays ahead of the afternoon rush hour due to the early morning crash.

The route was closed in both directions during the early part of the day.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the road reopened at 15:06.

However, traffic is still busy, particularly around Bilston/Straiton.
