Biker injured in collision

A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with head injuries after colliding with a car.

The crash between a silver people carrier and a bike happened at around 5.30pm yesterday at the junction of Leith Walk and McDonald Road.

The male casualty was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Both vehicles suffered substantial damage in the accident.

Lothian and Borders Police closed the road as they carried out an investigation into the crash.

A fire crew attended the scene but their services were not required.

The city’s rush-hour commuters faced long delays as a result, before the road reopened last night at around 10pm.
