Colinton Road traffic: Fallen tree blocking Edinburgh road near Redford Barracks and Merchiston Castle School now cleared

A road near Redford Barracks and Merchiston Castle School which was blocked following reports of a fallen tree this morning has now been cleared.

Colinton road was reportedly blocked in both directions in the area on Monday morning.

Buses were diverted following the incident.

Due to road closures, Lothian said the 400, 10, 45 services were unable to service Colinton Road

These services were being diverted via Colinton Mains Drive, Oxgangs Road North (10, 45) and Redford Road (10, 45, 400) in both directions.

However, Edinburgh Travel News reported that a forestry team have attended and the road is all clear now.

Edinburgh City Council confirmed that a squad was sent out and said the tree was cleared this morning.

Lothian has no current service diversions in place.
