Edinburgh Bypass: Crash closes major road for almost seven hours

A crash near Straiton closed the Edinburgh Bypass for almost seven hours throughout Wednesday night.

The eastbound A720 was closed by police after a crash at the Lothianburn junction, near Straiton, around 8.10pm on Wednesday.

Traffic Scotland warned drivers that the road would be closed ‘for some time’.

They announced that it had reopened around 3am on Thursday.

The westbound carriageway remained open.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
