Edinburgh City Bypass congestion: Heavy traffic on A720 at Sheriffhall due to broken down vehicle

Heavy traffic on a part of the Edinburgh City Bypass has built up due to a breakdown at Sheriffhall this afternoon.

Lane one of two eastbound was closed on the A720 at Sheriffhall as a result of the breakdown this afternoon at around 2pm.

Trunk Road Incident Support Service is on the scene.

Traffic Scotland has said that motorists should ‘expect delays’ as a result of the incident.

There is heavy traffic back onto the Sheriffhall Roundabout, according to Traffic Scotland.

The eastbound lane has now been reopened.
