Edinburgh roadworks: expected disruption due to closed bus stops, overnight works and more

Here are all of the published roadworks in Edinburgh which will start this week (w/c 24 February)

This is a comprehensive list of all of the road closures due to start from Monday 24 February until Sunday 1 March according to the City of Edinburgh Council website.

Canaan Lane, 24 February to 23 August

Canaan Lane between Woodburn Terrace and Morningside Road will have their one way order suspended in order to facilitate the safe egress for construction traffic. Begins midnight.

Parkgrove Drive, 24 February to 28 February

Parkgrove Drive between Drum Brae North and Parkgrove Loan will be closed due to fibre installation. Begins 8am.

Parkhead Drive, 24 February to 27 March

Parkhead Drive between Murrayburn Road and Sighthill Avenue will be closed due to carriageway resurfacing. Begins 8am.

Silverknowes Court, 24 February to 28 February

Three way temporary traffic lights at Silverknowes Eastway due to manhole replacement. Begins 8am.

Melrose Drive, 24 February to 06 march

Temporary traffic lights west of North Leith Sands due to resurfacing. Begins 9am.

Stenhouse Drive, 24 February to 24 February

Southbound lane at Stenhouse Grove closed due to manhole repairs. Begins 9:30am.

House O Hill Road, 24 February to 26 February

Road closed between Telford Road and Drylaw Crescent, with diversions via Telford Road and Drylaw Crescent. This is due to manhole repairs. Begins 9:30am.

Comiston Road, 24 February to 20 April

Between Comiston Drive and Comiston Terrace, there will be contraflow in operation, with one lane open in either direction. Bus stops will be closed, as well as the east foot pathway - pedestrian diversions as signed. This is due to repairs to the retaining wall opposite South Morningside Primary School. Begins 9:30am.

Dreghorn Drive, 24 February to 25 February

Colinton/Fairmilehead will be closed in their entirety, as well as Dreghorn Grove, Dreghorn Place and Dreghorn Avenue. The road closed on each day will be signed on the street. This is due to carriageway resurface treatment. Begins 9:30am.

City of Edinburgh Bypass, 24 February to 27 February

From Baberton to Calder, the road will be closed to westbound traffic between 8pm and 6am for three nights. This is due to landscape maintenance. Begins 8pm.

West Pilton Place, 25 February to 06 March

Road closed each weekday due to carriageway resurfacing. Begins 8am.

West Pilton Avenue, 25 February to 06 March

Between West Pilton Gardens and West Pilton Grove the road will be closed each week day due to carriageway resurfacing. Begins 8am.

Muirhouse Gardens, 25 February to 26 February

Road closed between Pennywell Gardens and Muirhouse Drive due to the upgrade works at phone mast. Begins 8am.

Leamington Place, 25 February

Road closed to through traffic between Leamington Place and Westhall Gardens due to the replacement of a telegraph pole. Begins 9am.

Longstone Road, 25 February to 27 February

Three way temporary traffic lights at Kingsknowe Road North from 7pm to 6am for two nights due to overnight cabling work. Begins 7pm.

Restalrig Road South, 26 February to 09 March

Two way temporary traffic lights at Lochend Crescent, with Lochend Crescent itself closed due to fibre installation. Begins 8am.

Hailesland Park, 26 February to 27 February

Road closed each day due to the carriageway surface treatment programme. Begins 9:30am.

West Coates (A8), 27 February

Contraflow will be in place between Wester Coates Road and Stanhope Street due to cycle counter repair. Begins 9:30am.

York Place, 27 February

Off-peak eastbound lane closure at York Lane due to signage works. Begins 9:30am.

Lanark Road (A70), 27 February to 28 February

Two way temporary traffic lights at Water of Leith visitor centre due to overnight manhole repairs. Begins 7pm.

London Road (A1), 27 February to 28 February

Two way temporary traffic lights at Cambusnethan Street due to overnight works regarding the installation/repair of traffic detection loops. Begins 7:30pm.

City of Edinburgh Bypass, 27 February to 28 February

Road closed 8pm to 6am from Calder to Baberton due to landscape maintenance. Begins 8pm.

Edinburgh Road (A199), 28 February to 06 March

Temporary traffic lights between Eastfield and New Street due to carriageway resurfacing. Begins 8am.

Pennywell Gardens, 28 February to 15 May

Road closed to westbound traffic between Pennywell Road to Muirhouse Gardens due to utility connections to housing development. There will be diversions via Pennywell Road, Muirhouse Parkway and Muirhouse View. Begins 8am.

Gilmore Place, 28 February to 04 March

Citybound lane closure at Lochrin Buildings due to mains connections. Begins 9:30am.

Corstorphine Road (A8), 28 February

Contraflow between Ormidale Terrace and Murrayfield Gardens due to cycle counter repair. Begins 9:30am.

Easter Road, 28 February

Local road closures and parking restrictions due to Hibs vs Inverness playing at Easter Road Stadium. Begins 6:30pm.

Portobello Road (A1140), 29 February to 01 March

Two way temporary traffic lights at Christiemiller Avenue, with no left turn into Christiemiller Avenue. This is due to a network upgrade. Begins 9am.

Gorgie Road (A71), 29 February

McLeod Street closed and Georgie area parking restrictions as signed due to Hearts vs Rangers playing at the Scottish Cup quarter final at Tynecastle Stadium. Begins 4:30pm.

West Approach Road, 01 March

Road closed between slip lane at Dundee Street and Westfield Road due to overnight bridge maintenance. Begins midnight.

Meadows, 01 March

George Square and Crichton Street closed due to the Meadows marathon. Begins 8am.

Shandon Place, 01 March

Two way temporary traffic lights at Shandon Street, with Shandon Street and Merchiston Grove closed due to cabling works. Begins 9:30am.

Central Edinburgh, 01 March

The follow streets will be closed except for cyclists and blue badge holders due to the Open Street initiative: Castlehill, Lawnmarket, High Street, St Giles' Street, Cockburn Street, Niddry Street, Blackfriars Street, Canongate, Cranston Street, New Street and Victoria Street. Begins 10am until 6pm.
