Edinburgh roadworks: travel disruption expected due to tram works, road closures and temporary traffic lights

This is a comprehensive list of all of the road closures due to start from Monday 7 October until Sunday 13 October according to the City of Edinburgh Council website.

Mountcastle Drive North, 23 March to 27 March

Eastbound lane closure at Mountcastle Gardens, with the footpath between Mountcastle Drive North and Northfield Park Grove closed as well. This is due to a network upgrade. Begins 8:30am

Coillesdene Gardens, 23 March to 25 March

Two way temporary traffic lights due to network upgrade. Begins 8:30am

Seaview Crescent, 23 March to 25 March

Three way temporary traffic lights at Milton Drive due to network upgrade. Begins at 8:30am

Torphichen Place, 23 March to 25 March

Road closed to northbound traffic, with diversions via Morrison Street, Haymarket Junction and West Maitland Street. This is due to a cable connection. Begins 9am

Marchmont Road, 23 March to 03 May

Two way temporary traffic lights between Warrender Park Road and Warrender Park Terrace, with Warrender Park Terrace and north end of Marchmont Crescent closed, due to trial holes. Begins 9am

Braid Road, 23 March to 27 March

Two way temporary traffic lights between Braid Crescent and Comiston Terrace due to cabling works. Begins 9am

Young Street South Lane, 23 March to 27 March

Road closed due to cable connections. Begins 9:30am

Queensferry Road, 23 March to 17 April

Lane closure between Clermiston Road North and Quality Street. Two citybound lanes maintained for morning peak traffic and two westbound lanes for evening peak traffic. This is due to the installation of cabling ducting. Begins 9:30am

Greenbank Road, 23 March to 24 March

Road closed at West of junction with Greenbank Lane due to ironwork repairs. Begins 9:30am

Calder Road, 23 March to 27 March

Off peak citybound lane closure between Bankhead roundabout and Sighthill Court. This is due to the upgrade of digital signage. Begins 9:30am

Pleasance, 23 March to 24 March

Temporary traffic lights at Drummond Street, due to overnight works, installation and repair of traffic detection loops. Begins 7pm

Salisbury Road, 23 March to 24 March

Temporary traffic lights in the entirety of the road due to overnight cabling works. Begins 7pm

The City of Edinburgh Bypass, 23 March to 29 March

Road closed to westbound traffic at Calder Junction from 8pm to 6am for six nights. Diversions will be found via Calder off and on slips. Calder roundabout traffic lights will not be in use whilst works are in progress. Begins 8pm

Kirkliston Road, 24 March to 1 April

Rolling programme of closures from Ferrymuir roundabout into Rosebery Avenue as far as Lawson Crescent, due to the clearing of blocked ducts and renewing cables. Begins 9am

Wardieburn Drive, 24 March

Road closed due to carriageway surface treatment programme. Begins 9am

Blackford Avenue, 24 March to 26 March

Two way temporary traffic lights between Eva Place and West Savile Terrace due to carriageway repairs. Begins 9:30am

Causewayside, 24 March to 25 March

Temporary traffic lights at West Preston Street due to overnight works on the installation and repair of traffic detection loops. Begins 7pm

Slateford Road, 24 March to 28 March

Three way temporary traffic lights at Craiglockhart Avenue from 8pm to 6am for four nights to allow for overnight work to clear blocked cable ducts. Begins 8pm

George Street, 25 March to 26 March

Road closed to eastbound traffic from Hanover Street to North St David Street due to overnight crane works. Begins 7pm

Old Liston Road, 26 March

Four way temporary traffic lights at Bridge Street for a telecom pole installation. Begins 6am

Harrison Road, 26 March

Road closed due to carriageway surface treatment programme. Begins 9:30am

Morrison Link, 26 March to 24 April

Northbound lane closure at Morrison Crescent due to diverting section of gas main. Begins 9:30am

St Mary’s Street, 26 March to 27 March

Four way temporary traffic lights at Cowgate/Holyrood Road. This is to allow for overnight works of the installation and repair of traffic detection loops. Begins 7:30pm

T Road (A702), 26 March to 1 April

Road closed at Silverburn overnight on Thursday 26, all weekend and then overnight on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31. This is due to carriageway resurfacing. Begins 8pm

Greendykes area, 27 March to 3 April

Bowes Place closed between Goldenrod Street and Milligan Drive, Aspen Road closed at Bowes Place, due to carriageway repairs. Begins 8am

Plewlands Avenue, 27 March

Road closed at Plewlands Terrace due to crane operations for replacement of telegraph pole. Begins 9am

Watson Crescent, 27 March

Road closed due to carriageway surface treatment programme. Begins at 9:30am

Glasgow Road, 27 March to 24 April

Westbound lane closure between Craigs Avenue and Craigs Gardens, with the bus stop opposite Craigs Gardens closed. This is for the installation of ducting for a new sub-station. Begins 9:30am

Leith Walk, 28 March to 31 August

Road closed to northbound traffic between London Road and Crown Place, with southbound traffic reduced to one lane. This is to allow for work on the trams to Newhaven project. Begins 7am

Morningside Road, 28 March to 29 March

Two way temporary traffic lights at Maxwell Street to allow for the installation of cable ducting. Begins 8am

Clerk Street, 29 March

Contraflow between Rankeillor Street and St Patrick Square, with southbound bus stops closed with a temporary replacement as signed. This is to allow for building inspections. Begins 9:30am

Haymarket Terrace, 29 March

Citybound lane closure between Coates Gardens and Haymarket Yards due to cabling works. Begins 9:30am
