Traffic lights are all out at the East End of Princes Street meaning that drivers travelling through the extremely busy North Bridge junction will need to take extra care this morning.

Edinburgh City Council said on Twitter: "Traffic lights are all out at the East End - junction of Princes Street/North Bridge/Leith Street/Waterloo Place. Please take care."

There is also the usual congestion on the city bypass with congestion going westbound between Lothianburn and Dreghorn.

The M8 is also slow eastbound from junction four to junction three and junction two to junction one.

The M90 is also slow going southbound from junction two to the Queensferry Crossing.
