A crash involving two buses has left passengers showered in broken glass.

It is understood that a Number 12 Lothian Bus collided with a Citylink coach at around 2:15pm in the St John’s Road area, close to Edinburgh Zoo.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but no serious injuries have been reported.

Images from the crash, seen by the Evening News, show at least two windows on the Lothian Bus were shattered during the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Sunday, 30 May, officers were called to the St John’s Road area of Edinburgh, following a report of a road crash involving two buses.

"There were no reported serious injuries.”

St John’s Road remains open to traffic.
