While some services are able to travel via Haymarket station, three services out of Edinburgh Waverley are being affected. Trains between Edinburgh and Perth, Edinburgh and Glenrothes and Edinburgh and Tweedbank have been cancelled and delayed.

As services from Edinburgh will be limited while staff work to fix the fault, travellers have been urged to check their journeys. Those who have bought tickets can use them to travel via bus with Stagecoach.

ScotRail staff warned commuters of the fault on Twitter, writing: “We have a signal fault at Haymarket Depot meaning we’re currently unable to get any trains out of this depot at present. Our services will be limited from Edinburgh until staff have rectified the fault. Please check your journey on the ScotRail app or website.”

Network Rail staff are currently on site at Haymarket Depot working on repairs.
