Edinburgh - Venice plane declares emergency mid-air

A plane travelling from Edinburgh to Venice has declared a mid air emergency 180 miles into its journey.

An Easyjet plane is understood to have landed following a mid air emergency.

The Easyjet flight, EZY21KJ, left Edinburgh Airport at 14:36 and was scheduled to arrive in Venice at 18:10.

It is understood that the plane has called a mid-air emergency and intends to land at Manchester.

The plane had travelled 180 miles before circling Slaithwaite
