The Forth Road Bridge will remain closed for the rest of the day.

It was closed for most of the day yesterday and access will continue to be restricted today from 8am until 4.30pm.

Buses, including services run by Stagecoach, will be diverted via the Queensferry Crossing.

In a statement on Twitter Stagecoach East Scotland announced the changes to bus routes.

A spokesman for the company said: “The Forth Road Bridge is closed today and tomorrow between 8am and 4.30pm and we're diverting via the Queensferry Crossing.

“Heading to/from North Queensferry? Please get on/off at Ferrytoll.

First Minster Nicola Sturgeon reminded the public this week that travel is still only possible fro essential journeys.
