Have you ever wanted to take 50 limes through Edinburgh Airport security but been unsure whether or not it's allowed?
Us neither, but Edinburgh Airport has taken upon itself to answer this and other questions in a fascinating Twitter thread.

Hide AdThe airport asked people to vote whether they thought various bizarre items would be allowed through security in a series of online polls yesterday.
Things kicked off with the odd suggestion of '50 limes', which followers rightly guessed would be allowed.
People were also correct that an iron would be allowed through security, as well as bagpipes.
Contrary to what most people thought, a fondue set is also allowed.

However it came as a surprise that smoke alarms, tinned haggis and Christmas crackers can all be brought through security.
Play-Doh split the vote almost 50:50, with followers seeming very unsure whether or not it would be allowed.
But the airport assured us that Play-Doh is perfectly acceptable to bring through security.
In answer to a question from a follower on Twitter, the airport added that tins of soup are banned, despite tinned haggis being allowed.
