Gillespie Crossroads: Queues as temporary traffic lights expected for five days in busy Edinburgh area as BT carry out cable and ducting installation

There are queues on all approaches to Gillespie Crossroads as work is carried out in the area for five days.

The four-way temporary traffic lights will be in the area from Monday June 7 at 8am until June 11 as BT carry out cable and ducting installation at Gillespie crossroads.

There are currently queues on all approaches to Gillespie Crossroads, according to Joanna Cochrane, breakfast travel presenter for Forth.

The work to Gillespie Crossroads comes after it was rescheduled from March 26 this year, according to Edinburgh City Council.

Diversions will also be in place on Elliot Road between numbers 3 and 15 as BT carry out telegraph pole replacement services. The road will be closed to through traffic on Monday.

There are also two sets of roadworks on The Wisp on Monday morning.

There will be ongoing work north of Edmonstone Road expected to be completed by the end of the week and new BT work north of Newton garage registered for two weeks.
