Heavy delays on M8 into Edinburgh following two-car collision

Delays are being reported on the M8 heading into Edinburgh following a collision involving two vehicles.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the collision between two cars at around 12.25pm on Saturday, 29 February.

The collision occurred on the M8 eastbound on the approach to Hermiston Gait roundabout.

Emergency services attended the scene and subsequently closed the road.

Traffic was diverted via the off-slip to the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass westbound to Gogar.

Heavy queues have been witnessed from J2 Claylands with a travel time of around 45 minutes to Gogar roundabout.

Traffic Scotland confirmed at 2.25pm that the incident had been cleared, though added that traffic remains slow.
